Fisker's story is not new, as it goes back a long way and is marked by both innovation and disruption, including difficulties and bankruptcies. Nevertheless, the story of Fisker can be compared to the story that Elon Musk wrote more than ten years ago. After a series of challenges, Fisker is now back with its new car that is awakening the world of electric vehicles - the Fisker Ocean.

Similar to Elon Musk Fisker also embarked on the path of breakthrough innovation, but he could not avoid the obstacles that the traps of the past and the beginning of the electrification revolution set for him. But despite the aborted plans, Fisker did not give up. Like a Phoenix, he rises again from the ashes, ready for a new chapter in his story. And as Elon Musk did with the Tesla brand, Fisker returns with an ambitious goal - shake up the world of electric vehicles.

With its stunning Fisker Oceanom, it is Fisker that is setting a new standard that will shake up the world of electric vehicles in terms of price and ecology. This vehicle is the result of hard work, innovation and vision combined into a single superlative. The Fisker Ocean has marched forward so determinedly that it is not only a car, but also a manifesto of Fisker's tenacity and commitment to a sustainable future.

The automotive industry is experiencing a paradigm shift, as electric vehicles (EV) are gaining popularity. At this moment, Fisker comes with its reincarnation and latest creation, the SUV – Fisker Ocean, which is ready to ride the wave with a competitive price, impressive range and modern features, and the most sustainable approaches among all manufacturers.

The heart of the ocean: an electric drive for every taste

It is at the heart of Ocean and its model line Sport model, which boasts a single electric motor that drives the front wheels with 275 horsepower. This configuration allows the vehicle to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in around 7 seconds. In comparison, the Ultra and Extreme trims and the exclusive One edition boast a pair of electric motors for four-wheel drive. The extreme version stands out with its astonishing acceleration, reaching a speed of 100 km/h from standstill in just 3.7 seconds and boasts an impressive 564 horsepower and 543 Nm of torque. So for every need, Fisker has a heart at its disposal. Of course, this also determines the price, which is almost unbelievable for what is offered. The Fisker Ocean Sport starts at 39,500 euros for the model with a 75 kWh battery. With such suitable equipment, it barely exceeds 43,000 euros including duties, i.e. value added tax.

Design is at the heart of the strategy

Design Fisker Ocean pays homage to iconic off-road vehicles such as Range Rover Evoque, with a blend of elegance and rugged appeal. The SUV has a remarkable 17.1-inch center touchscreen that can rotate both vertically and horizontally, adapting to different driving conditions. This innovative feature enhances the driving experience by providing exceptional convenience and accessibility. It is necessary to know that the CEO of the company is a designer himself and that nobody accepted compromises in the design.

One of the standout features of the Ocean is the convertible-like experience. At the push of a button, the roof panel, side windows and rear window open, i.e. all 8 windows, creating a refreshing feeling of "openness" similar to that of convertibles. This unique feature adds an element of fun and freedom to driving, Fisker Ocean and separates it from its competitors. Of course, the method is named California, the land from which, at least in terms of ideas and philosophy, Fisker Ocean comes from.

What about range?

Fisker Ocean – offers batteries of different sizes, with the largest 106.0 kWh pack enabling a realistic range of around 500 kilometers per charge. Charging the Fisker Ocean is simple thanks to compatibility with most EV chargers. Fisker has also partnered with Electrify America to provide Ocean owners with free charging benefits. The Oceana's 400-volt architecture supports fast DC charging rates of up to 200 kW, allowing the 10% to 80% to be charged in approximately 35 minutes when connected to a suitable charging station. Even with the basic model, the car is quite heavy, which is one of its main minuses. The consumption will thus be around 22 kWh per 100 kilometers. On highways, it will have an average drag coefficient of 0.29 Cd, which is really not excessive for this type of design. However, this car will not be among the most economical, also due to its considerable weight.

Minimalistic and eco-style interior

Inside the Fisker Ocean, a blend of sustainability and luxury awaits you. Redesigned materials adorn the cabin, encouraging an environmentally friendly approach while bringing a touch of elegance. The fixture includes a sleek digital gauge panel, complemented by simple controls and a spacious, comfortable layout. Every Oceana model boasts an automatic rear-view mirror with camera, a power steering column and a convenient power liftgate. Plenty of legroom, headroom and an outstanding view ensure a comfortable and pleasant ride for passengers. The interior of the Fisker Ocean is decorated with a large touchscreen, similar to the screens of the company Tesla. However, Fisker goes a step further with a 17.1-inch screen that can rotate between portrait and landscape orientations. This flexibility improves the user experience and ensures optimal visibility. With a moving touchscreen and premium audio system, the Oceana's infotainment package compares with the best in the industry.

Safety first and intelligent systems - Fisker Ocean

Safety is key, and Fisker delivers with its comprehensive Fisker Intelligent Pilot package. This suite of standard driver assistance features includes automatic emergency braking, system for blind spot control and lane keeping assistance. These advanced technologies work together to increase driver confidence and safety on the road.

Customer care and maintenance challenges

For a new brand, it is important that customers feel great with the guarantees provided by the manufacturer. This is also why Fisker's commitment to quality is evident in their warranty offers. The Ocean comes with an above-average warranty that covers six years or 100,000 kilometers, along with a powertrain warranty that runs for ten years or 100,000 kilometers. However, it's important to note that free maintenance is not included, which puts Fisker's warranty package within industry standards.

A car made entirely by a renowned manufacturer Magna Steyr, carries the air of quality and experience we can expect from names like the Mercedes-Benz G-Class, BMW Z4, Toyota Supra and Jaguar I-PACE. Fisker's Ocean is a gem crafted by the same hand behind these prestigious names, ensuring not only aesthetic perfection but also reliability and performance at the highest level.

20 percent cleaner than the world's cleanest car, the Polar 2, when manufactured

Sustainability is the heart and soul of the Fisker brand, which is also reflected in the Ocean 2023. Its interior is equipped with renewable materials that not only create a pleasant environment for the driver and passengers, but also contribute to reducing the impact on the environment. The design of the glass surfaces, which allows for a feeling of cabriolet freedom, emphasizes the connection with nature, while at the same time supporting the sustainable orientation of the vehicle. Fisker Ocean is a champion in minimal carbon footprint. So the cleanest production car in the world.

I would have it!

Innovation is at the very core of the Oceana 2023, which represents the company's first product, not the last, produced in collaboration with Magna Steyr. It is powered by an advanced electric drive that is both powerful and sustainable. The Ocean is equipped with a dual electric motor system that drives it up to 564 horsepower and enables acceleration to 100 km/h in just 3.7 seconds. It's power that spills onto the road with a sophisticated electric four-wheel drive system designed by Magna Steyr. To be fair, I would have. Design-wise and technically, it covers all the boxes. Added to this is the insanely good price of the entry-level model at 39,500 euros.
