The Fjällräven Classic is a traditional event for everyone who wants to get to know the Swedish nature. This year, Fjällräven presents a digital form of hiking through Fjällräven Classic TV. It is an online solution where people can go on a hiking experience online despite the current conditions.
Fjällräven Classic TV will connect viewers around the world with the locations of successful Fjällräven trekking events. You can watch the first episode until May 29 on Fjällräven's social channels and website Classic.
Fjällräven Classic hikes have become the perfect introduction to outdoor life for those members of the hiking community who have long dreamed of hiking and camping in the wilderness of northern Sweden. Original concept Fjällräven Classic was launched in 2005 with the aim of encouraging people to hike in the Swedish mountains. Over the years, it has developed into an event where more than 2,000 people from all over the world pass The 110 kilometer long Kungsleden section, from Nikkaluokta to Abisko.
Due to its popularity, the concept of Fjällräven Classic hikes spread very quickly. After a few years, the event also started to take place on Denmark, in 2016 even in USA. In 2017, the Fjällräven Classic was held in four different locations around the world, when Sweden, Denmark and the USA were joined by Hong Kong.
In the veto year 2020, however, it did Fjällräven Classic expanded to more countries and continents than ever before - with marches planned in Germany, Great Britain, China and South Korea. Fjällräven received incredible responses from hikers around the world and tickets sold out quickly. But 2020 has proved to be a particularly complicated year in many ways, and it is with great sadness that Fjällräven has had to cancel events in Germany, Denmark, Great Britain, USA, China and Sweden due to the Covid-19 pandemic. So they came up with a genius idea that will allow people to still enjoy the beautiful landscapes of Fjällräven Classic. They decided to create a stunning, a digital hiking web event series, to give people around the world at least a little bit of the Fjällräven Classic experience.
First part Classic Germany will last 3 days and will spread over 57 km long route across fields and forests, along ridges and lakes, over hills and meadows, wonderful of the Allgäu region in Germany. Spectators will be able to join for just a few hours or for the entire three-day hike and experience it from a hiker's perspective. Fjällräven Classic TV you can watch from May 27 to 29, 2020, on the website Fjällräven Classic, where you can join the adventure anytime and from anywhere.
The second part is planned from 1 to 4 July 2020, starting at 12:00 and will take hikers to Denmark, on a 75-kilometer hike by the sea, over grassy hills and through dark forests.
