With a “halo eye” look, light is directed and reflected from the middle of the lid, upper and lower, thanks to the lighter and shimmery shades of the eyeshadow applied to the center. Contrast is achieved with darker shades of eyeshadow on the inner and outer sides of each lid, giving the illusion of larger, brighter eyes. To get this look right, divide the eyelids into three parts - the inner corner, the middle and the outer corner. The goal is to achieve an almond shape on each side of the lid, but instead of going from a light to a darker shade of eyeshadow, start with a dark shade, apply a lighter shade to the center of the lid, and then finish with a dark shade again.
