Many people believe that they will be happy when they become successful because of hard work, is this really the case? Scientists say that success often depends on the feeling of happiness, that is - enthusiasm, joy and cheerfulness is what promotes success in the workplace.

Happy people are more satisfied with their work and receive more support from coworkers and better performance evaluations from superiors.

Experts say that such people leave a better impression and thereby unconsciously influence how people see and experience them - the happier they are - the better impression they leave.

Some study evaluated the productivity of insurance agents and found that the more positive they were, the more successful they were. They sold up to 37 percent more insurance policies than less positive colleagues.

It also turns out that they have happy employees better income, less absenteeism and they are not inclined to give up, like those who feel unhappy at work.

Another study showed that happy 18-year-olds are more likely to find a job faster and to engage in more prestigious and satisfying jobs than others.

What comes first - happiness or success?

Experts admit that in the end it is actually difficult to answer the question - what comes first, happiness or success?

For example, some very famous and successful people were not happy and optimistic. History shows that it can depressed individuals, such as Abraham Lincoln and Winston Churchill, achieve incredible feats.

Both negative and positive emotions are adaptive to situations. There is a time when you are sad and a time when you are happy. These are all normal and acceptable human emotions, which only once again confirm that we are all just human beings with emotions.

In 1951, the philosopher Bertrand Russell said something that can be summed up in two sentences: "The good life, as I imagine it, is a happy life. But I think if you are good, you will be happy. I think if you're happy, you'll be fine.”
