Honda unveiled two new electric vehicle concepts at CES 2024 in Las Vegas, heralding the next generation of the "Honda 0" series. This series represents Honda's new approach to electric vehicle design and engineering.

The first concept, named Saloon, is Honda's flagship EV concept. It has an aerodynamic design that is low to the ground. The exterior is equipped with LED lighting elements that surround the new, retro "H" logo, intended exclusively for electric vehicles. The rear of the vehicle is designed with elegant rectangular taillights that surround the updated Honda lettering. The interior of the vehicle is minimalistic, with a single screen that spans the entire width of the dashboard and a yoke-shaped steering wheel that controls the steering-by-wire system. The sports seats are designed for sporty driving and include two curved screens on the back of the seats. Honda claims that all materials used in the interior and exterior will be sustainably sourced. A production car based on the Saloon concept is expected to be available in North America in 2026.

Another concept, the Space-Hub, looks like a modern minivan and was developed with the aim of "improving people's everyday lives". It has an extremely spacious cabin and great visibility. The concept features seats facing each other and promises plenty of interior space. Honda has yet to say whether it plans to produce a vehicle inspired by the Space-Hub concept. However, this is a promising start to the line of vehicles – the Honda 0.

Both concepts represent the first vehicles in Honda's new “0” series philosophy, which will include an angular design language and new engineering practices for electric vehicles. The series will also include new in-car technologies such as artificial intelligence and more advanced safety equipment. Honda will use its experience in motorsport, including Formula 1, to develop advanced aerodynamic technologies that will bring a new level of performance to electrified vehicles. The 0 Series will also include e-axles for excellent power and efficiency and lightweight packaging, high-density batteries that will offer good range while minimizing battery size. Honda focuses on fast battery charging, which will reduce the charging time from 15% to 80% battery capacity to about 10-15 minutes, and to reduce battery degradation to less than 10% after ten years of use The Honda 0 series of vehicles wants to be truly revolutionary.
