How to clean the toaster quickly? We have the answer.

Are you wondering how to clean the toaster quickly? Cleaning it is not very often on the agenda, but the dirt that accumulates in the toaster is anything but tasty and pleasant to health. You are not the only one who rarely cleans your home toaster. Cleaning toaster ovens is often considered a thankless task, but the problem is that improper and inconsistent cleaning of this kitchen appliance can, in the worst case, even lead to a fire. Yes, you heard that right, the crumbs that accumulate in the toaster can even catch fire. In addition, burnt crumbs can expose your lungs to dangerous particles, and dirty toasters present a perfect haven for bacteria.

How to clean the toaster quickly?

Unplug the toaster

If you are pressed for time, you may be tempted to clean the toaster immediately after use. But don't make that mistake. Before cleaning, turn off the toaster and make sure it is completely cool. Never soak it in water, as this will damage the electrical elements and may lead to a fire.

Clean the crumbs from inside the toaster

Although it is impossible to thoroughly clean the inside of the toaster, it is very effective to turn it around. Use a pastry brush with soft bristles to pull the crumbs along the edges and into the crevices. While some use long tweezers, scissors or knives to reach trapped debris, these can damage electrical components.

Empty the crumb compartment

Most toasters have a removable tray on their bottom designed to catch crumbs. Don't forget to empty it and use a sponge, warm water and a mild dishwashing detergent to remove any dirty, greasy parts. Dry it with a microfiber cloth before returning it to the toaster.

Clean the outside of the toaster

To remove stubborn grease stains, use a microfiber cloth or a non-abrasive sponge. Scrub the exterior with warm water and a mild dishwashing detergent. If there are crumbs or greasy deposits in the crevices around the buttons, gently remove them with a toothpick.

The toaster should be completely dry before use

Never submerge the toaster in water, and do not use completely wet sponges when cleaning. Always wring out the sponge before use. Then wipe everything down with a dry microfiber cloth to catch any drips. Cleaning your toaster before bed will give it time to dry completely before you use it again the next day.
