How to get free coffee on March 21?

Are you interested in how and where to get free coffee on March 21? Let us trust you: all you need is some poetic inspiration!

March 21 you can meet your friends in one of approximately 70 cafes across Slovenia, but leave your wallet at home. Pencils and pieces of paper will be waiting for you on the tables, on which you can write your own author's verse, you hand it to the wait staff and use it to settle the bill for the coffee or tea of your choice. Every verse submitted will be part of a poetry initiative this year Pay with verse 2019  given a special mission - it will help patients with the most severe forms of blood cancer to return to life. There will be a company for each author's verse Julius Meinl contributed 30 cents to the rehabilitation of blood cancer patients. Based on past years' experience, they expect more than 8,000 thousand verses. You can find cafes that will offer coffee in exchange for an author's verse here.

Musician Tom Odell also contributed his verse.

Responses to poetry will be sought using biometric methods

When asked what the value of poetry is today, the Julius Meinl company decided to investigate in more detail what happens in our brains when we encounter poetry. To this end, research company Valicon, in collaboration with BlackBox, is currently conducting unique research that will reveal deeper, unconscious brain processes using advanced EEG technology. The research will be conducted on a standard sample of people, and their reactions to the songs chosen by the poet Feri Lainšček, a supporter of the campaign, will be recorded.

Take a moment, find inspiration and connect with others and yourself through writing poetry!
