The ice hotel in Lapland has opened its doors again. Located in the village of Jukkasjärvi and carved and erected anew every year, the 2015/16 season also offers 19 unique suites designed by a host of different artists and designers. The snow and ice hotel has been welcoming guests since December 11, 2015 and will remain until it melts.

Icehotel it is the largest ice hotel in the world. It lies in the village of Jukkasjärvi in Sweden and every year it also offers unique rooms in addition to the standard hotel offer. The 26th version so brags with 19 unique suites, made by authors from all over the world. From the Swedish artist who planted a huge elephant in the room, to the French team who equipped the room with arched buttresses.

During the construction of the Icehotel 2016, as much as 700 million snowballs were spent on 50 bedrooms, a chapel and a bar, 2,500 ice cubes weighing two tons, and only the chandeliers are made of 1000 hand carved ice crystals. This year's edition of the Icehotel, where you can watch the northern lights every night, is themed in animal, architectural and theatrical colors.
