Little Sun Organization
Little Sun is an organization founded by two world-renowned artists Olafur Eliasson and an engineer Frederik Ottesen. Their main goal is to provide access to solar energy to people living in communities without regular access to electricity, especially in sub-Saharan Africa. Working with IKEA allowed them to make the power of the sun more visible and accessible to people.
SAMMANLÄNKAD lamps
It is the larger of the two SAMMANLÄNKAD lamps LED solar desk lamp, designed to look like the sun. The light source has a hemispherical shape, and the reflection from the mirror creates a shining sun. The metal frame is adjustable, which allows it to be used as a table or hanging lamp. The versatility of the lamp is increased by the ability to remove it from the frame and use it as a lamp.
SAMMANLÄNKAD lamps they are not only visually stunning, but also serve as a powerful reminder of the importance of renewable energy sources. Little Sun has already helped provide clean energy to 4.6 million people in sub-Saharan Africa, and they hope to continue spreading solar energy around the world. These lamps may be a small step towards that goal, but they are a step in the right direction.
