The Indian Scout motorcycle is celebrating its 100th anniversary and, as befits, something out of the ordinary has to be done to celebrate - so they came up with an unusual motorcycle that has only one mission: to compete in Sultans of Sprint acceleration races.
Indian joined forces with the company to celebrate the jubilee Workhorse and a unique engine was created Indian & Workhorse Appaloosa Scout, whose design is adapted for competitions in acceleration, and was named after a fast breed a horse.
At first glance, Appaloosa Scout reminds us more of futuristic a means of transport such as a motorcycle. A bunch of handmade replacement parts required more than 700 hours works. The original fuel tank had to be redesigned and is now only big enough for 2.5 liters fuel.
The side profile has remained unchanged enough that the motorcycle can still be seen inside Indian Scout, which was the beginning of the whole project. In the Appaloosa Scout, we can also find a part of Slovenian engineering know-how, which is hidden in the form of a titanium exhaust Akrapovic.
Since the key to acceleration is to cross the finish line as quickly as possible, a fuel mixture system with nitrous. With this they are factory 100 horsepower increased to 130 horsepower.
The Appaloosa Scout will compete in France, Germany and Italy in the coming months when the acceleration competitions take place, Sultans of Sprint.
