This is how Instagram will bite influencers: all links will become paid!

Instagram has patented a new functionality that could seriously piss off influencers! But you can introduce it soon!

Latest development reports indicate that Instagram is developing an add-on for inserting "commercial" links next to classic posts, i.e. photos, videos, etc. A function that was not possible now, if it is added as a new functionality, will only be of a paid nature. This could be quite "disturbing" for influencers. Also because the same principle could apply to these "stories".

Influence, you may not like it, but Instagram might start charging for links in image descriptions. According to the patent he disclosed Mike Murphy, Facebook is considering new sources of income on Instagram and methods to advertise products with links.

This mode is the owner Instagram - Facebook - patented a long time ago 2016. Every time the user wanted to add a link, a warning would appear in a small window inviting them to pay $2 for the link to be visible next to the text.

Instagram will no longer be free!

The patent description states, how the system will work: "If the system recognizes the image description content that contains a URL, the web system will prompt the user to insert a link and charge for it.”

Let us remind you that for some time many users have been suggesting Instagram to improve its functionality. One of the biggest criticisms is that you can't insert a link when you post! If you want to link to a story, product, or anything in a post, it's impossible because descriptions don't allow links. Most people therefore use the established method – "link in bio" - and verified users and those with more than 10,000 followers can link to stories. The question is whether they will influencers, brand and others, interested or willing to pay a fee every time they insert a link in their "stories". But this move would allow Instagram to make a big profit. Namely, the latter change could also mean the possibility that Facebook requires payment for each link published on Instagram.

Of course, it's just about patent and rumors. However, it is far from necessary that this will come true.
