Some women wear it day and night, others can't wait to get rid of it. And what does science say?
A bra is an integral part of every woman's life. However, many dislike it and can't wait to take it off, while others are happy to wear it at night.
Many women, especially those with large breasts, have trouble finding the right bra, and the wires tighten, chafe and cause discomfort.
There are various stories circulating among people that sleeping with a bra is harmful, but science and the many medical studies that have been done on this topic cannot confirm these claims.
They say sleeping with a bra it has no ill effects on women's health, and that it is even recommended for women with larger breasts to wear a bra.
“Wearing a sports bra or a non-wired bra while sleeping will help limit breast movement during sleep, which relieves breast pain and leads to better sleep. Wearing it is useful if it doesn't cut you and doesn't cut off your circulation," they say.
So if you were afraid of the negative effects of wearing a bra at night, such as breast cancer, poor blood circulation or slow breast growth, now you can breathe a sigh of relief.
If there's any reason to worry, it's simply that it does you should not wear a bra that is too tight or digs into your skin, which can cause skin irritation and sleep disturbances.
