KIA has been making big leaps in recent years and produces cars that even its sibling Hyundai sometimes finds difficult to compete with. KIA recently changed its logo and announced electrification with new all-electric models, but a completely new wind was blowing in Korea.
The EV6 model, which will be the first model of the KIA brand to be designed as a purely electric car, will also be the first to wear a new logo image and be marketed under a new slogan. With the renewed design direction comes a new face for KIA cars, ditching the familiar tiger nose grills for a new grille more suited to the electrified era.
Chia's new design philosophy, called Opposites United, is said to be inspired by the contrasts in nature and humanity. The philosophy is based on five key pillars of design: "Bold for nature", "Joy for reason", "Power for progress", "Technology for life" and "Tension for serenity". Needless to say, expect future Kia cars to adopt this design philosophy in the coming years.
In the EV6, the updated design philosophy is evident from the new face – the front grille, and the sharp lines are complemented by sequential dynamic light patterns. In profile, the EV6 looks like a crossover, although it sits relatively low to the ground. The C-pillar gives the EV a coupé silhouette. The rear is probably the most interesting part of the EV6, with an LED light that runs from left to right.
The KIA EV6 will be presented in a few days, until then, photos in the gallery!
