Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air: just a clone or a serious MacBook Air competitor?

Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air

Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air or MacBook Air, that is the question. China's Xiaomi has swam into computing waters with the Mi Notebook Air, which strongly resembles the MacBook Air. Apple has long inspired many competitors with its products, but the Mi Notebook Air is perhaps the most blatant Apple copycat yet. Is Xiaomi's laptop a real rival to the MacBook Air or just its clone? Let's see.

Xiaomi presented his own the first laptop – Mi Notebook Air, and also introduced a cheaper and slightly smaller version, the laptop Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air variant. Both notebooks are extremely thin and light, and will be available in silver and gold.

The larger version boasts with a 13.3-inch screen and processors Intel Core i5, 8 GB memory, graphics card Nvidia GeForce 940MX and disco 256 GB SSD  (making it possible to play even the most demanding games like Dota 2), while the 12.5-incher is powered by a processor Intel Core M3. His disk and memory were cut in half 128 GB SSD or 4 GB, and therefore has a more durable battery, as it is supposed to provide 11.5 hours of autonomy compared to 9.5 hours of its bigger brother (40 watt battery). It also only has one port USB 3.0, compared to two 13.3-inch versions.

12.5-inch weighs 1.07 kilograms (measured in thickness only 12.9 millimeters), while the scales aim at 1.28 kilograms for the larger one. For the latter, you will have to shell out approx. 680 euros, and for a smaller one approx. 480 euros. The Windows 10 operating system was installed on both of them and they were given an illuminated keyboard, an HDMI input and a connector USB Type-C (allows charging up to 50 percent in 30 minutes). The 13.3-inch model measures 14.8 millimeters in thickness, which means it is both lighter and thinner than its "muse", the MacBook Air laptop.
