Lasso is a robot that will recycle our recycling

Waste has reached a crisis point – according to experts, there will be more plastic than fish in our oceans by 2050. Research has shown that 91 percent of plastic is not recycled and that more than half of what is put in the trash ends up in landfill. In their pure form, recyclable materials are very valuable, but separating them when they are mixed is very expensive: PET differs from HDPE, bottles are recycled according to their color, etc.

To tackle this problem properly, Lasso is currently developing a prototype for a home recycling device that ensures these precious materials never end up together, ensuring that everything inside the device can be 100% recyclablei.

Robot Lasso

The Lasso robot washes waste, grinds glass, peels various plastics (while separating PET, HDPE, etc.) and crushes cans before storing the products for collection every few months. Not only will plastic flakes, glass granules, etc. be formed in this process. (known as ReProducts) which are 100% clean, will increase their value tremendously and we will be able to send them directly to processors, bypassing all the complex sorting, transportation and processes that are part of current recycling systems.

Not only will Lasso help the environment, but also our pocket. The company states that it will marketed and sold recycled products, which will be produced by households.
