Lego figures from Star Wars come to life like in the movie

There are certainly quite a few of us who have ever thought about what movie scenes would look like if Lego figures took over the role of actors. The Lego Movie, which is coming to cinemas soon, will be a dream come true for many, and for those of us who are also fascinated by Star Wars, Vesa Lehtimäki will become a true legend with his incredible photographs.

With thoughtful movement of lego figures, baking powder, the right lighting and a lot of imagination, he is an illustrator and photographer Vesa Lehtimäki, whose artwork can, by the way, also be found on Pinterest and Instagram, took photos that make the figurines look almost as real as movie stars.

Lehtimäkise started documenting his toys five years ago, when he used larger action figures and models to assemble small models and lego sets. He breathed a little life into them when he published interesting photos on To Flicker. He began to receive great responses, so soon it was no longer just his hobby, but a real art project.

Since Vesa is in love with winter and snow, he decided to shoot his figurines in such an environment. He strove to create the most convincing environment and atmosphere, and above all, he was looking for the perfect substitute for snow for the mini-scenes of the battle on the planet Hoth. He tried several different materials, including plaster, powdered sugar and flour, but as he says, "baking powder makes the perfect snow for the Lego world," adding that he wanted to create from elements we all know well. That is why Lehtimäkise usually does not recreate scenes from famous films, but rather creates a kind of fake deleted scenes, something that could actually happen. At the same time, he very much likes to create, one could even say to direct, he leaves his fictional backgrounds and the assembly of parts to his imagination, and his artwork thus gains additional value - uniqueness.
