Regular visitors to Ljubljana's Castle Hill have been able to watch with interest the construction of the vineyard for the past few months, which will receive the last vine seedlings on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at noon. Ljubljana, the green capital of Europe, offers a new form of coexistence of its inhabitants with nature and once again justifies its green title, while at the same time consolidating its 30-year status as a "city of vines and wine" and conveying to the world a message about the importance of the vine and wines in Slovenia.

Castle vineyard on Grajski hill in Ljubljana will be richer from April 23, 2016 for 1050 reeds. At 12 noon, the last seedlings will be planted, and you can also attend the opening of the vineyard, which will be attended by many dignitaries. From the castle park to the vineyard, which lies on the southern edge of the hill and spreads out on an area of 0.3 hectares, will lead marked path. It is well sunny and airy location chosen by the experts of the Agricultural Institute of Slovenia. They also selected white and red varieties. By Saturday, they will plant cane like this white belpin varieties (better known as chardonnay) and the red variety of the red grajec (also rotburger or zweigelt).

The first harvest can be expected in years 2019 (white variety) or 2020/21 (red variety), and bottling a year later. Wine is supposed to be for 1000 to 1200 bottles, which will fill the castle's wine cellar and serve as a protocol gift.
