Mercedes' long-rumored EQXX concept has finally been revealed!
As part of CES 2022, Mercedes-Benz unveiled a concept that promises to revolutionize the future of electric cars. The biggest improvement is the EQXX's whopping 999 kilometers of range, a feat achieved without adding more battery cells. But with extreme optimization.
Mercedes has used its F1 program and "accumulated knowledge" to create a 100 kWh battery pack that is 50 percent smaller and 30 percent lighter than the one used in the EQS 450+. Added to this is an ultra-low drag coefficient of 0.17 and weight-reduction tricks including composite construction and lightweight alloys combined with technology such as on-demand battery cooling. The sum of these optimizations is the car's exceptional range.
Power comes from a 201 horsepower engine, but the EQXX focuses on efficiency rather than performance. The sleek exterior is complemented by an equally stunning interior, which includes a 47.5-inch 4k touchscreen that spans the width of the car, eliminating any physical switches. A series of sustainable materials joins the story.
