Majorca: the island of pleasure in the Balearic Sea

Majorca is not only attractive in the summer months, when the beaches are filled with sun- and color-seeking tourists. This Balearic pearl is an excellent choice all year round, as it can boast of picturesque towns and beautiful nature that attracts hikers and mountain bikers.

When to Majorca?

The best time to visit Majorca is early spring or early autumn. Months like April, May, September and October are warm enough to warm your bones while avoiding the biggest tourist crowds. This time is perfect for hiking or mountain biking, and accommodation prices are also affordable before the season. Daily temperatures in spring range between 19 and 24°C, while the sea temperature then ranges around 17°C. What should I see in Majorca?

If you are wondering what you would do on such a small island in the middle of the sea, your questions are redundant. Majorca is a great mix of cultural heritage and natural attractions. From tourist resorts such as Cala Ratjada and Cala Millor are the picturesque old town Alcudia in the north of the island. The latter boasts a number of sandy beaches that attract tourists in the summer months. While the north boasts beaches, the west is home to mountains Serra de Tramuntana with its wild and unspoilt nature and canyons and mountain ridges.

Beneath it, you will find a bunch of small villages, which are served as a backdrop by the mighty mountain range. One of these is Fornalutx, with only seven hundred inhabitants, where you can find narrow stone streets and small stone houses. In the north and northeast you can find a number of excellent resorts that can serve as a starting point for exploring the island. In the immediate vicinity are the 200 m high cliffs of Cap Formentor, as well as S'Albufera natural park. There is no shortage of golden sandy beaches and lively tourist resorts in the south either Peguera but fans of snorkeling and other water sports will also find something for themselves.

How to explore Majorca?

Upon arrival in Mallorca, you will find yourself at one of the busiest Spanish airports - Palma de Mallorca Airport. It is the third largest airport in Spain, located 8 km from the capital - Palma. There are three road branches that lead you around the island, which are the easiest to travel with a rented car. Covid-19 restrictions in Majorca

To travel to Spanish territory, you need a vaccination certificate (at least 14 days after complete vaccination with vaccines approved by the European Medicines Agency, a negative result of a diagnostic test (PCR no more than 72 hours before arrival, HAT no more than 48 hours before arrival) or a certificate about a medical condition.
