Here comes the 2024 Maserati GranCabrio, a breathtaking roofless version of the iconic GranTurismo. In the Trofeo version, which promises 542 hp (400 kW) of pure open-air pleasure, this vehicle is ready to transform every drive into an unforgettable adventure. The ability to fold the roof in less than 14 seconds at speeds of up to 50 km/h (31 mph) means you're always just a moment away from the sun's rays or the starry sky.

The long-awaited roofless version of Maserati's GranTurismo is finally here. Introducing the 2024 Maserati GranCabrio, arriving this summer in Trofeo trim, ready to go from shade to sunlight in just 13.9 seconds. That's the time it takes the 2024 Maserati GranCabrio to fold its canvas roof, and it can do so at speeds of up to 50 km/h (31 mph). If you're caught in a sudden downpour, you'll need a little more time – 14.1 seconds to be exact – to protect yourself from the rain. Maserati offers several shades of the roof, including blue, dark red, black and two shades of gray to match six exterior colors: Nero Assoluto, Blu Modena, Bianco Astro, Grigio Incognito, Grigio Maratea Matte and an unnamed shade of metallic green.

You don't buy a GranCabrio to admire it with the roof up. Using the car's touch screen, the driver controls the roof with gestures to the left or right. There's also a standard neck warmer that blows warm air over the front passenger seats at three adjustable speeds. If you want less air flow, you can choose an additional air shield that is installed manually behind the front seats. This reduces turbulence for those in the front, but at the same time prevents the use of the rear seats for passengers.

Technically, the Maserati GranCabrio 2024 is identical to its Trofeo hardtop sibling. This means 542 horsepower (400 kW) from the twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 "Nettuno" engine, which drives all four wheels via an eight-speed transmission. The convertible is 100 kg (220 lbs) heavier, which means slightly less performance. Nevertheless, we are talking about a really fast car. Step on the gas and reach 100 km/h (62 mph) v 3.6 seconds. If you keep the gas pressed, the meter will show 315 km/h (196 mph), just 5 km/h (3 mph) less than its hardtop sibling.

The interior design is also the same. It includes a 31.2 cm (12.3-inch) central screen for the infotainment system, which combines with a 22.4 cm (8.8-inch) screen dedicated to functions such as digital climate control. Driving is controlled by the driver via a 31 cm (12.2 inch) instrument display, and there is no shortage of technology on board. It includes the Maserati Intelligent Assist system with Andriod Auto as the brain, and Apple users have CarPlay connectivity. Maserati Connect offers all kinds of connected functions for home or car, and a wide range of Level 2 driver assistance systems are also available.

At launch, the 2024 Maserati GranCabrio will only be available in Trofeo trim. Maserati will announce pricing closer to the summer 2024 on-sale date for North American buyers. It won't be a cheap experience. The hardtop GranTurismo Trofeo starts at 190.000 $, so a base price of over 200,000 $ for the GranCabrio is not out of the question. The price in Europe will be comparable.

Maserati GranCabrio 2024 sets new milestones in the world of convertibles, combining timeless elegance with uncompromising performance and technological sophistication, which are characteristic of the Maserati brand. It combines tradition, innovation and the pleasure of driving under the open sky, which places it at the very top of the range of luxury sports cars.
