The young painter developed a very special passion in the constant embrace of art from an early age. Through the play of intense colors and shapes, the imaginative combination of various techniques and materials, he creates paintings and sculptures that lead to an inspiring narrative of abstract images. He is now presenting his flamboyance to the general public with the first solo exhibition "My abstracts".
When did your passion for painting begin?
Even in my childhood, I liked to paint, draw and create various works of art. Given that the parents are also artists and managers Art studio Kos, and my sister was also trained as an art teacher, I was somehow always surrounded by art. The event that especially stayed in my memory and encouraged me to embark on this journey myself was the sale of my product as the first one after the opening of the studio. I continued to develop my passion and thus in high school already set up the first exhibition of watercolors and collages with the title "Sights of Maribor".
Where did you get your knowledge in the field of fine arts over the years?
My parents gave me a lot of knowledge about various art techniques, and through my studies at the Faculty of Civil Engineering in Maribor, I also learned a lot about materials, statics and geometry, which I use to my advantage in my creations. I also often attend various workshops where I try to gain additional skills and experience.
Which art techniques and motifs are close to you?
In the beginning, my creation was mainly influenced by African art, to which I added a touch of my fiery temperament. I like to play with different art materials and techniques. I could say that my pictures stand out stronger impulse, intense colors and narrative forms. I am now in the period when I am transitioning to simpler lines and the fusion of shapes and colors into one. I still strive for color intensity, but through changing texture and ways of applying colors.
Are you only engaged in painting or some other artistic creation?
I am drawn more and more to creating sculptures, which also affects my paintings, because they give 3D effect. For many years I danced show dances, especially hip hop, which gave me the opportunity to perform with local and foreign music artists. From time to time, I also do modeling, which I think is also a kind of artistic creation.
Where do you get your inspiration from?
I am fascinated by colors, art materials and different textures, as well as the very process of creating concepts and perfecting ideas. I often get inspiration while spending time in nature, at the sea, when I look at some interesting artwork and by watching my parents' creations.
What achievement are you most proud of so far?
Recently, the light mirrored mine first solo art exhibition with Title "My abstractions", which is until April 1 on view in the premises Primary schools of the Polančič brothers in Maribor, then moves to gallery of Jože Hudoles. I am proud of all my works, but the painting "Tenderness in armor" is especially close to me, because I put a lot of effort and time into it. I used my knowledge of materials and their mutual reactions and thus inserted water and glass, which required quite a few attempts, but in the end I just succeeded. Many times I get ideas that are difficult to implement, but I persevere until the end, until I create a work that is as I envisioned it.
What does it mean to you to be able to express yourself through the art of painting?
I paint because I enjoy it immensely, and at the same time it relaxes me, allowing me to find my inner peace again and gain new strength. My imagination comes to life and takes me to a different world - a world of colors, materials and perfect harmony. Through my creations, I can show the world my ideas, visions and energy.
