The International Graphic Art Center and the Menagerie represent the largest artistic advent calendar in Slovenia. The Menagerie: 37 Days of Christmas at Tivoli Castle exhibition is designed as a large advent calendar with works of art from the Menagerie art brand presented to the public one after the other from December 1 until Christmas Eve, December 24, with each day made of wrapping paper to unwrapped new art pieces that are on display at MGLC and featured on social media. The unfolded exhibition with all the works was on display from December 25, 2020 to January 8, 2021.
You can see a selection at the exhibition Menagerie hits as well as never-before-seen works. More than half of the art pieces were made especially for the occasion. The collection of 12 prints in the exhibition was created in MGLC graphic studios.
Visual artist Iris Pokovec studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design at the University of Ljubljana, where she also received her master's degree in 2017. Since 2017, he has been working under his own artistic brand Menagerie. She is interested in contemporary curiosities, which she creates by playing with the communication tools of modern consumerism in classical painting and graphic media, with an emphasis on the relationship between current consumer plastic, marketing slogans of the 21st century and contemporary popular nihilism.
