The Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe debuts with a slight evolution and now boasts a refined rejuvenated design, improved interior and advanced technology, while also being slightly larger than its predecessor.
The camouflage was removed and Mercedes-Benz The 2024 GLC Coupe is in the spotlight. With a slightly larger size than the previous model, the evolutionary changes to the exterior also hide a redesigned interior, which features a large portrait-oriented central touchscreen and a wide range of standard equipment.
Most of the GLC Coupe's updates were revealed last year during the standard debut of the GLC-Class. To recap, exterior highlights include a restyled lower section with slimmer front headlights and slimmer taillights, accompanied by a revised rear fascia. The interior shows off a stunning and serious makeover, with a 12.3-inch driver display and an 11.9-inch portrait-oriented central touchscreen. The new GLC Coupe is powered by the same 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine as the standard GLC, which includes a 48-volt mild hybrid system to generate 255 horsepower (190 kW) and 295 pound-feet (400 Nm) of torque.
At launch, it is the only one GLC Coupe, offered by Mercedes, the 300 4Matic with the standard AMG Line package. (US market) This means that all coupes will be equipped with a stylish AMG star grille and 19-inch wheels (20-inch wheels are optional). The updated shape results in a drag coefficient of 0.27, and the interior includes standard AMG Line elements such as a leather dashboard with a diverse selection of wood trims. A panoramic sunroof is standard, while the Tech Package includes heated seats, Burmeister 3D surround sound, wireless phone charging and the latest MBUX system.
Interior space is slightly different from the rear B-pillar. There's 19.2 cubic feet (544 liters) of cargo space behind the rear seats, which is a little less than the standard GLC, but slightly more than the previous GLC Coupe. Folding down the second row reveals 52.6 cubic feet (1,490 liters) of total space—an improvement over the outgoing model. In terms of dimensions, the 2024 GLC Coupe is 1.2 inches (3 cm) longer and less than a quarter inch (0.6 cm) taller than its predecessor. The new Coupe is also a little over an inch (2.5 cm) wider in the rear and a fifth (0.2 cm) wider in the front.
The new GLC Coupe is equipped with advanced driver assistance systems. In addition to the standard array of sensors and warning systems, Mercedes includes its 360-degree Surround View camera for precise maneuvering in tight spaces. The "transparent hood" function is included among the camera functions, which effectively shows the terrain directly in front of the vehicle. Combined with a standard off-road mode that offers hill-descent control, drivers can navigate challenging terrain with confidence in the stylish SUV.
Mercedes has not yet revealed the price for the 2024 GLC Coupe, we don't even have an exact timeframe for its arrival in showrooms other than "later in 2023." Spy shots of high-performance AMG models have been spotted, so we can expect the hotter versions to be launched this year or in the first half of 2024.
