We've all wanted to be rock stars at some point. Either way, the feeling of performing in front of crowds of enthusiastic fans is certainly something special. Unfortunately, such a life is not destined for everyone.
A one-man band from Los Angeles Threatin proved that it is possible to reach world fame even by taking a shortcut. To its founder To Jered Threatin something incredible happened.
Jered built around his band an entire empire of lies, which he researched in detail Tim Williams from the portal Sick Chirps. Threatin thus worked on the basis of:
- fake public relations company,
- fake label Superlative Records,
- fake agencies, allegedly representing about 40 fake bands,
- fake comments on YouTube,
- fake interviews,
- fake prizes,
- false details of past performances,
- fake live videos,
- false advertisements and
- fake websites.
If all the information we got online about the unique band is to be believed, Threatin can be ranked as one of the most successful music artists of all time. Among other things, comparisons with bands such as The Beatles, Metallica and Guns n' Roses. Threatin is also expected to receive an award “Top Rock Artist of the Year Award”, dedicated to the best rock musician of the year.
The real problems arose only after the band had agreed on all the details with the concert organizers. So is Threatin who was represented by a fake agent Casey Marshall (Jered Threatin), announced a big UK tour, and the organizers provided him with the necessary equipment and front groups.
Threatin performed at the London festival Underworld, on which established musicians of various genres perform. The organizers managed to sell it 291 tickets, but they only saw the concert three people. Threatin confided to one of the visitors that this year's tour will be his last, as he will be in an American heavy metal band Manowar soon replaced the guitarist Karl Logan.
At the Facebook event for the performance in Bristol has confirmed its participation 100 people. It turned out to be fake accounts from Brazil. Nobody attended the concert. Of course, even the front groups were not impressed by the deception.
Threatin just managed to become famous in the end. For the tour, he had to pay approx 35,000 euros. Many wonder where he got so much money from...
