In Slovenia, cinemas have started showing the Oscar-winning film Moonlight (Moolight, 2016), which in the dramatic finale of the awarding of the most prestigious film awards took the statuette out of the hands of the film La La Land. This made it the first film in history with an LGBT label and an all-black cast, and also the winning film with the lowest budget (US$1.5 million). Mahershala Ali became the first Muslim to win an Oscar for acting.
March 9, 2017 the Oscar-winning drama arrived in Slovenian cinemas Moonlight (2016), which is in Hitchcock's finale after a mistake by the awarders, the Oscar was awarded to the favored film La La Land. Mesečina received a total of three Oscars, in addition to the statuette for the best feature film, also for the best adapted screenplay and supporting actor.

Moonlight Barry Jenkins carries a label LGBT and is based on a play by Tarell Alvin McCraney. It tells a story about homosexuality and the search for identity, set in a black world drug dealers in Miami. We follow life black boy Chiron – from childhood to adulthood – who lives with addicted mother and is the target of attacks from other boys. We also follow his relationship with his friend Kevin, with whom he discovers his own gender identity, which he then hides from others and himself. Jenkins to none of the actors who played the same character, he did not allow them to hang out during the filming of the film, in order to portray my character in a certain period of life as authentically as possible.
