Don't Look Up is an upcoming American satirical sci-fi film that is a dark comedy starring some of Hollywood's biggest stars.
Written, produced and directed by Adam McKay, the dark comedy stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence as astronomers who use a media tour to warn humanity of an approaching comet that will destroy the Earth.
Kate Dibiasky (Jennifer Lawrence), an astronomy student, and her professor Dr. Randall and Mindy (Leonardo DiCaprio) discover a stunning killer comet orbiting within the solar system. The problem is that there is Earth on the way, which he will almost certainly collide with. Another problem? Nobody really seems to care about that. It turns out that warning humanity about a planet killer the size of Mount Everest is uncomfortable and not a real topic of conversation in modern society. With the help of dr. Oglethorpe (Rob Morgan), Kate and Randall go on a media tour that takes them out of the office of the indifferent President of the United States, Orleans (Meryl Streep), and her sycophantic son and chief of staff, Jason (Jonah Hill). Hit the airwaves on The Daily Rip, a lively morning show hosted by Brie (Cate Blanchett) and Jack (Tyler Perry). With only six months until Earth's destruction, managing a 24-hour news cycle and garnering the attention of a social media-obsessed public proves to be shockingly comical—what it will take to make the world look up.
