Messner's mountain museum Coronas is located on top of a mountain Kronplatz in South Tyrol, Italy. It is dedicated to the history and culture of mountaineering and was designed by the world-famous architect Zaha Hadid. The museum is located at an altitude of 2,275 meters above sea level and is accessible by cable car. It has a stunning glass and steel structure that seamlessly blends into the mountain landscape.

Due to its location, the museum offers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. Visitors can enjoy a panoramic view from the museum's roof terrace, which is the highest point of the Kronplatz mountain. The terrace offers a 240-degree view of the surrounding peaks, including the Dolomites.

Reinhold Messner opened this museum in the north of Italy in 2015 and dedicated it to traditional alpinism and the history of alpinism. Museum exhibitions explore the history of mountaineering and the relationship between man and mountains. The museum houses many artefacts, including climbing equipment, photographs and documents that show the evolution of mountaineering over the years.

The Corones Museum is the crown of Messner's comprehensive work and the last of six museum projects dedicated to alpinism.
