MWC 2019: Huawei Mate X smartphone with foldable display

It's not always the best strategy to be first, even if the difference is only a few days. After Samsung, Huawei showed off its foldable phone called the Huawei Mate X at MWC 2019, which will also go on sale later than the Korean competitor. But it will be quite different from the Galaxy Fold, maybe even more interesting.

It is quite clear that bendable screens are no longer only in the prototype phase, but there is still a month or two before mass production. Huawei will be Mate X sent to stores in the middle of the year, but in Europe he will ask for it a breathtaking 2,300 euros. But this is the price of technological progress, which is not lacking in this device.

That alone can fold is something special. It is possible to use it stretched on a tablet with a screen diagonal of eight inches. When folded, it offers a 6.6-inch screen with a fairly normal aspect ratio on one side, and a much narrower 6.38-inch screen on the other. None of them mind a notch and also there is only one photo set. That's because it's on the side, upright, so it is applicable in both cases – i.e. when the "phone" is open or closed. This is a significant advantage for selfies. The image on the screen is crystal clear and full of details, and the screen is extremely durable. A phone that, among other things, can boast of with excellent cooling, will otherwise be available in a brand new interstellar blue color. It embodies the beauty of technology and sets new standards for smartphones of the future. The exceptional performance of the Huawei Mate X naturally requires a lot of energy. At Huawei, therefore, they installed a huge battery with a capacity of 4500 mAh in its 5.4 mm case, which is an extraordinary achievement. In conjunction with artificial intelligence and an advanced smart saving mode, it offers long-term operation and thus meet the needs for a greater amount of energy brought by the connectivity in the 5G network. The battery can be charged with the included charger it charges up to 85 percent in 30 minutes, which means that even users with a fast pace of life will not run out of energy.

So there is another technological leap in this phone support for fifth generation networks, which, unfortunately, no one is building in Slovenia yet. But this will enable theoretical speeds of several gigabits per second. They also put a lot of work into the fold, which consists of more than a hundred parts and ensures that the "closed" phone does not breathe. Z 11 mm it is also thinner than competing products.
