The Quilt app is designed to help you create authentic friendships based on what motivates you in life or what you're going through right now.
If you love taking care of yourself and wish there was an app that captured the essence of Bumble BFF and Clubhouse, you'll want to get to know the app Quilt. It is an audio platform where the main role is played by moderators, experts in various emotional fields. These usually greet each listener individually, which may give you a little more courage to actually speak up and join the conversation. The founder of the application Ashley Sumner namely, it wants users to feel comfortable when they call from a walk, from the car or from work - the same as when calling a friend. "I've had women who just came out of the doctor's office and announced on Quilt that they were pregnant—I don't think they even told their husbands," says Sumner.
The Quilt app, which started its journey in 2007 as a platform for personal gatherings in users' homes, had to change its guidelines during the pandemic. According to Sumner, sound was the best way to help people connect with each other. The five-person team launched the updated Quilt app this January, and since then the number of users has doubled every month.
"We are not an open platform where everyone can come and talk about ambitions and fundraising," adds Sumner. "We very intentionally set this to be a space to be used for self-care-oriented conversations like spirituality, mental health, meaning in life, relationships, and personal development."
How to use the Quilt app?
Photo: App StoreDownload the app from the store App Store and create an account (currently the app is only available for iPhone users, but you can sign in to waiting list for android). When you join, you will be asked to select at least three topics, which interest you. All further proposals will be based on these decisions, so choose topics that you would actually like to work on. Upload your image, add a description and choose a username. When you get to the home page, you'll see everything that's happening live. If you don't want to make an announcement, you can on the tab Discover find friends or start following featured accounts like moderators and ambassadors. The app has three welcome rooms every day to motivate new members and answer Quilt-related questions.
