The new colorful restaurant Llama in Copenhagen

A new restaurant, Llama, specializing in South American specialties, recently opened in the Danish capital. Bjarke Ingels Group and Kilo teamed up to design the interior and together they created an ambience that combines Scandinavian and South American design principles.

The restaurant is one of the first to offer in this part of Europe flavors of South America. Inspiration for both the menu and the interior was sought in Peru, Argentina, Bolivia, Ecuador and also a little further north in Mexico. The space is from useless cellars turned into a wonderful restaurant with help colorful tiles and black furniture and thus created a space with a feeling intimacy and elegance. The floor and walls are lined with handmade Mexican tiles, which bring a bit of Latin flair to the Scandinavian environment. The restaurant also features current interior design trends, such as brass lamps and a green wall.
