Fujifilm has been impressing in recent years with great strides towards videography and one of the best hybrid camera systems that offer the best of both worlds. Both photos and videos. Their new Fujifilm X-H2s raises the bar for the competition, thanks to a new sensor and some outstanding capabilities. Tip: Videographers will love it!

If you have been looking for years for a hybrid camera with which you will take an exceptional photo and at the same time be able to capture high-resolution 4K video with the possibility of 120 fps and 10-bit recording, you had to look at products that, in principle, carried a price of more than 5,000 euros. Fujifilm brings these features for a price of 2,749 euros, also thanks to the new sensor that graces the Fujifilm X-H2s. Let's see more.

The new 26-megapixel, back-illuminated APS-C sensor features a faster readout design, enabling blur-free shooting at up to 40 frames per second with the electronic shutter – while maintaining continuous autofocus tracking. The latter is joined by an extremely efficient fifth-generation X processor running at 1GHz with a 600MHz sub-processor, which is entirely dedicated to managing the new five-point in-body image stabilization system – which Fujifilm claims has the ability to stabilize up to seven stops. At the same time, all this "hardware" ensures that the autofocus system is supported by high processing power and the possibility of tracking subjects in real time. By comparison, the X-H2S can perform three times as many autofocus calculations as Fujifilm's X-T4, and Fujifilm says its new AI enables subject detection and tracking of human faces and eyes, animals, birds, cars, bicycles, airplanes and some other objects . In zone AF mode, the camera gives priority to closer subjects that are in the middle of the frame, which will allow "vloggers" to capture selfies without slips.

As mentioned, the X-H2S is designed for hybrid use in stills and video, and is supported by a fully articulated three-inch 1.62 million dot LCD screen and a 5.76 million dot EVF with 0.8x zoom. It's great that the screen can be rotated so it can be used as a video surveillance monitor. The X-H2S has also gained a much-needed headphone jack, which is in addition to the 3.5mm microphone input, and of course there's also Micro USB to USB-C - for the ability to use the X-H2s as a webcam at home without additional software equipment. As for the video capture specs, we're impressed. Namely, the shift can be up to 6K at 30 frames per second, 4K up to 120 frames per second and 1080p at 240 frames per second. It can record these resolutions and frame rates in Apple ProRes format internally to its new primary CFexpress Type B card slot (the secondary card slot is a more typical SDXC UHS-II).

With the X-H2s camera, Fujifilm appeals to users who need a camera with more videography capabilities and for whom the X-T4 was an excellent base, but who, due to their professional inclinations, often considered much more expensive cameras. Above all, it brings 4K video with 120 frames and the possibility of recording video in 6K to the price range. These are the "numbers" that will completely satisfy the professionals.

Official sales start on July 7, the price for the Slovenian market is 2,749 euros. You can pre-order the Fujifilm X-H2s at photo-klik.si
