Hyundai Sonata 2024, the eighth-generation facelift, features a radical new look and a premium curved screen, taking the cabin experience to a higher level.
Hyundai Sonata 2024 has made its debut and is more than just a subtle facelift for the eighth-generation model that was introduced in 2019. The standout feature of this updated mid-size sedan is the stunning wide LED light bar at the front, similar to what we saw on Kona SUV, the Staria minivan and the larger Grandeur sedan. Official images reveal the standard model alongside the sportier N line.
Line N it catches the eye with its new exhaust design and exclusive 19-inch alloy wheels. Hyundai has also revamped the rear lights and introduced a flatter design, as the light signature no longer extends to the upper part of the trunk lid. The Hyundai badge has been moved a bit lower and is now below the light bar. Both the regular and N Line versions have redesigned bumpers that add an air of aggression to the rear.
Moving on to the interior, the 2024 Sonata brings significant changes to the cabin, becoming the first Hyundai model to feature a sophisticated curved display reminiscent of BMW's iDrive 8. The 12.3-inch (approx. 31 cm) digital instrument cluster and infotainment screen on touch of the same size are seamlessly integrated into a single curved glass panel. While BMW has ditched the climate control shortcuts, Hyundai has kept the dedicated HVAC panel, but now has touch-sensitive controls.
Additional updates include a continuous vent design, a new four-dot (H in Morse code) steering wheel, and moving the shifter to the steering column, simplifying the center console. This reconfiguration allows Hyundai to extend the center armrest and introduce a palm rest for added driver comfort. Overall, cabin quality has been improved with this mid-cycle facelift.
Hyundai Sonata 2024 will grace the Seoul Mobility Show starting on March 30, where more information about the technical specifications will be revealed. Spy shots hint at a prototype with an AWD sticker, but there is no official confirmation yet.
