Oktoberfest is a sixteen-day festival that takes place every year from the end of September to the beginning of October in Munich. One of the most popular events in Germany, which he visits every year more than 6 million visitors from all over the world, represents, among other things, an important part of Bavarian culture.
Oktoberfest, which is considered one of the symbols of Germany, originates from entertainment at the wedding of King Ludwig I of Bavaria. October 12, 1810. Later, the event was moved to an earlier time, when the weather in the Bavarian capital is usually nicer, but the name remained. Nowadays, it is tradition that at exactly 12 o'clock the mayor of Munich opens the Oktoberfest and toasts all the guests with a shout “O'zapft is!”. And Oktoberfest is officially open.
