You know - the time around Christmas is the one in which very special feelings arise in every individual. There is always something special and different in the air. And accordingly, the surprise that the representatives of Opel Slovenia prepared for us was when we received a bright yellow, but really bright yellow Opel Astro GTC for the "Christmas" test. One that hides almost 200 sparkly deer under the hood, but I'm sorry... horses. It seems that there really isn't that much of a difference between horses and deer. But there is a difference between the Opel Astra GTC and its conventional 5-door sister.
While the usual 5 door aster is not a car that arouses many emotions, or strong emotions, the story is different with the three-door version. It shares many common details with its 5-door sister, but the exterior is completely redesigned and out of this world. Harmonious rear with extremely attractive led optics, side line that is just right aggressive and OPC details test versions like the black roof and mirrors make it desirable.
For the three-door version, I can claim that this is the most harmoniously and dynamically designed Opel at the moment. The test Opel Astra caused good "design" feelings also due to the cosmetically added OPC equipment. The kind that the real OPC astra has, the one that always strikes fear into the bones of practically every make-up GT.

But this Astra is really beautiful, as evidenced by many views and even thumbs up from Opel owners. In principle, the reactions we are used to when we are behind the wheels of exotic carriages and not a car that you can get for good 21.000 euros.
Three door Opel Astra it's not just a three-necked aster. It is much more, as Opel engineers set out to do a car tailored to the driver. And they did it perfectly. Although it shares the technical basis with its conventional sister, the developers borrowed the front suspension and suspension from OPC insignia. Yes, that "furious" insignia. So is the car significantly lower from her usual sister and brings everything together as a collection of many details to incredibly good feelings behind the wheel and great driving properties.
The rigidity of the body is convincing and the car remains in a non-drilling position even when the driver wants everything to be less controlled. The sensations are simply excellent and such that the driver is forced to drive faster because he trusts the car completely. The feeling of speed is deceiving, so you will often drive too fast.
He was hiding under the hood of the test Astra 1.6 liter turbo engine with the ECOTEC® label, which develops 149 KW, respectively 200 horsepower at 5,500 rpm. Full torque 280 Nm is available at around 2000 rpm, when the turbo blower wakes up and star accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h 7.9 seconds. Not bad at all, especially when these feelings stick with you even at speeds over 100 km/h. In these, the car accelerates sovereignly and furiously to its final speed 230 km/h, which we have not tested in practice. But from what we have seen, we believe that the astra with this engine can easily reach this number.
Since the car is extremely dynamic in its driving dynamics, which is followed by the engine, the whole thing adversely affects the fuel consumption itself. Most of the time we were too fast, unintentionally too fast in fact, so we recorded a tight average 9.2 liters per 100 kilometers driven. In all likelihood, also due to the choice of a test route that offered safe cruising on winding serpentines, highways where the conditions for testing excellent driving dynamics were always offered.
Your place under the sun Opel Astra GTC he is looking for a Renault Megane Coupe, Volkswagen Scirocco and possibly a Hyundai Veloster. At that its advantages and trumps it clearly shows in the attractive price policy, because you can buy a very comparable test Opel Astra GTC for a good price 21.000 euros. But for that price, you get a car that delivers lots of driving pleasure, attracts even more views and looks simply wild. In this price range, however, it is rare to find a car that offers the listed preform numbers at the listed price.
