In Slovenia, there are more and more excellent creators of handicrafts and quality producers of materials, which is why they decided to organize the first three-day Festival of handicrafts, which we will be able to visit between September 25 and 27. With a common story, they want to present themselves to the general public and contribute to raising awareness of the value of hand-made products.
The Lesenjača is a wooden bicycle of Slovenian origin, behind which the up-and-coming Mika Kovač and his parents stand, and it was created in the family carpentry studio 4MK. The Lumberjack's journey to Kickstarter is an interesting one, as it all started in the 2nd year of high school, when Mike and the rest of the class were given an assignment to make something out of wood. Since Mike is a cyclist at heart, a wooden bicycle was the first thing that came to his mind, and his home workshop also came up with the idea. The result is worth not only a high five, but also financial support, don't you agree?
Just as the human body has its own charm, so does UV light, and John Poppleton has combined the two in the Bodyscapes art project. Generally, bodyscapes are photographs of naked bodies that give the impression of a landscape, but he gave the term his own twist. He was drawn into artistic waters after sticking to wedding and portrait photography for over 20 years, but it was a combination of boredom, fascination with UV light and the beauty of the human body and the opportunity to express himself through art that gave birth to the series images on bodies that come to life under UV light.
Forget telescopes. The Nikon Coolpix P900 digital camera has such an impossible zoom that you can see the moon with it. For him, even the sky is no longer the limit, and his 83-fold magnification not only sets new milestones, but also brings things that were previously in the domain of satellites, astronauts and sinfully expensive equipment closer to ordinary mortals. For just over 550 euros, you can now use your camera to peek and document the happenings on the Moon through your home window.
Cliff houses are nothing new. In the Middle Ages, countless castles grew on them, even today many people, admittedly not out of strategic aspirations, build a house on the edge of a precipice. But Casa Brutale on the coast of the Aegean Sea adds a new dimension to cliff houses. It does not lie on but in the cliff, and in addition, it acts as if it were rotated by 90 degrees. The concept is the work of OPA.
