They are coming back after twenty years. The Endless River, as Pink Floyd named their new album, should be released in October this year.
Polly Samson, who married vocalist and guitarist David Gilmour in 1994, shared the news on Twitter. She wrote that the swan album is a 2008 song by deceased founding member Richard Wright. The news was also confirmed by singer Durga McBroom-Hudson, who participated in their concerts in the eighties and nineties. This one is on its own Facebook wrote that it all started during the recording of The Divison Bell album, which is why Richard Wright's works are also on the album. But since then, thanks to David Gilmour and Nick Manson, they've done a lot more.
It was supposed to be an entirely instrumental album, but already last December, vocals were added, hers and Gilmour's. She added that the album only consists of "unheard songs". There is even speculation about the band going on another tour, but we will have to wait for more information. Among others, David Gilmour is finishing his solo album, the first since 2006.
