The technology company Panic, which comes from Portland, always delights us with its devices - after participating in the creation of the video game Firewatch, this time it presented the unique gaming console PlayDate.
Gaming console Play date includes black and white screen with resolution 400 x 240 pixels. It is also found on it arrow keys, buttons A and B and the button for a break. On the side part there is a rotary handle, which, as the creators of the console predict, will completely changed the gaming experience.
With the handle, you tell the avatar in the game what to do. Depending on the game it will be like that the avatar executed various commands, such as moving, sitting, fighting... The creators say yes some games will only require you to use the joystick.
The device was manufactured in cooperation with a Swedish company Teenage Engineering. Games will be delivered wirelessly to users once a week, with other details not being revealed in advance.
They will design them world-renowned video game creators, such as Zach Gage, Bennett Foddy, Shaun Inman and Keita Takahashi. The latter has already created the first attached game called Crankin's Time Travel Adventure, in which the lever is required control the flow of time.
The game system will be in the first season, which consists of 12 weeks, richer by just as many games. It will be available for pre-order this year, while customers will get it next year. The price, which includes all games, is 149 dollars, which is approx 133 euros.
