It will be the first European village for digital nomads, and it will be located in dreamy Madeira.

Digital nomads are people who use only digital technologies to do their work, love to travel, are independent and live anywhere in the world. In short, a digital nomad lives and works "on the road", because he can do his work, for which he only needs access to the Internet (and a good Internet connection), from anywhere in the world.

These are bloggers, designers, journalists, photographers, etc. And since the coronavirus pandemic has significantly changed our lives over the past year, a new group of digital nomads has emerged. Because of the current situation, working from home has become a part of everyday life for many, so they are no longer condemned to five days in the office, i.e. they work remotely.

It is also expected that in 2021 more and more people will decide on longer trips, where they can combine work and pleasure more effectively.

With this in mind, the first European village for digital nomads is opening on the Portuguese island of Madeira. It's a project Digital Nomads Madeira, which opens the door to interested digital nomads February 1 in the city of Ponta do Sol. Until June 30, 100 digital nomads have the opportunity to live in this wonderful place, where the climate is always pleasant, the sun shines all year round, and nature is incredibly beautiful. Nomadska village offers travelers free offices, free internet every day from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. and many other benefits. The only condition is that they must commit to staying for at least one month.

The project is a joint initiative of the regional government of Madeira, the start-up company Starup Madeira and Gonçalo Hall, a telecommuting consultant. They have also tied up with local businesses such as hotels and car rental companies so that they can be used by all the digital nomads who will come here to live and work. Gonçalo and his partners hope to launch more similar projects, both in Madeira and in more rural areas of Portugal.
