Porsche came up with a competitor to all those non-prestigious compact SUVs and somehow set new standards for driving dynamics and aesthetics. As promised not only on asphalt but also on unpaved ground.
Of course, if you drive your Macan into the mud, which we somewhat doubt.
We are certain that the Macan will be a part, as its name comes from the Indonesian word for tiger. With its Porsche Traction Management (PTM) 4-wheel drive, owners could also drive it on more demanding terrain.
The Macan is a purebred Porsche
Even in the Macan, Porsche's sporty character is already reflected in the design. Due to its low position and accentuated width, SUV seems glued to the road. The hood of the engine compartment, which surrounds the front part of the vehicle, and the falling roof line emphasize overall sporty elegance and distinct dynamics.
Many design elements are taken from other sports cars of the brand Porsche and customized Macan.
Macan is "Made in Germany", as it is produced in Leipzig in the new factory in which they invested 500 million euros. It will produce up to 50,000 vehicles annually.
Three model versions, the most powerful of which will be named Macan Trubo 3
In the future, it will occupy the very top of the compact SUV segment Macan Turbo 3, the most powerful representative of this model series. The new 3.6-liter V6 biturbo engine develops a powerful 294 kW (400 HP) and vehicle from 0 to 100 km/h accelerate into 4.8 seconds – with the optional Sport Chrono package v 4.6 seconds. The Macan Turbo achieves the greatest hit-growth ever 266 km/h, but nevertheless spends only 100 km of the route 9,2–8.9 l of fuel (according to the new European driving cycle*)) and emits 216-208 g of CO2 per km into the atmosphere.
