Porsche has always made dream cars for metrosexuals and hedonists. Many attempts to make an interesting family car have been successful only in the SUV world. This time, Porsche turned the tables and revealed to us an extremely useful car.
Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo it is not the first electric station wagon in the world, but it is certainly the most exciting. It combines all the characteristics of the Porsche Taycan sedan and adds some extra practicality that we expect from a car that has a slightly longer roof and a more cropped rear in an almost station wagon shape. It stands 20 millimeters higher than the regular Taycan and more a centimeter, if you choose the Off Road Design version or package. The latter offer even more plastic body coverings that imitate the appearance of a sports SUV - a crossover. The front fascia and rear of the car have also been updated.
Porsche Taycan – to the model Cross Turismo it adds a dedicated mode for driving on poor surfaces such as gravel by raising the suspension and modifying the stability control and torque management systems for better grip on such roads. The folks at Zuffenhausen admit that the station wagon wasn't designed as a "rock-crawling off-roader", but the adaptations make it extremely useful even on poorer terrain.
Like the Taycan sports sedan, the new Taycan Cross Turismo uses an innovative electric drive with an 800-volt system, power thus ranging from 380 to 625 hp, with the option of overboost, which squeezes up to 761 hp from the battery.
