Postmodern Jukebox is a magical musical group of New York jazz musicians who ventured into exploring the waters of pop music and took only the best from them.
The group Postmodern Jukebox was created by a trained pianist Scott Bradley, a jazz lover who used to reject anything related to popular music. That changed when, while casually researching contemporary pop waters, he discovered that he simply couldn't say for sure that this kind of music was really bad. He found that what really bothered him was the context of pop song performances and that there was actually something artistic about them. By adjusting the circumstances of the songs, especially their performance, these songs can be truly beautiful, he says. With the group Postmodern Jukebox, he wants to show the true identity of the songs, the fact that even with adapted performance circumstances, they do not lose their true essence. Through his work, Scott highlights an interesting fact that many people do not realize - there is only a narrow gap between high and low art, and it is easy to build a bridge between them. With his group, he calls for the creation of a parallel alternative universe of the popular song.
Postmodern Jukebox are actually magical, because they make us cry even when we hear a cover of a wild Miley Cyrus song.
