Spring 2018. Coast. The girls, musicians by heart and profile, came up with the idea of a big band. The boys, locals from Marezig, came to their aid with a space for rehearsals, first notes and experience. The internationally renowned saxophonist Lovro Ravbar took over the artistic direction of the newly formed big band, and the group of "bandits and bandits" has been creating together for a good half year.
The orchestra - still without a name at the time - debuted with a performance at the MareziJazz big band festival in July this year. They impressed the audience with their energy and noticeable enjoyment of (joint) music making. Musicians are not limited by genre, they perform various compositions from proven swing classics through pop/rock to original compositions (which are mainly the conductor's work for now). Bend-it thus bends the boundaries of musical genres and travels in the direction of finding a recognizable sound that is completely (only) its own. The orchestra is also unique in that the age range of the musicians is from 15 to 47.
