Pro Climate: a new brand of environmentally neutral products in dm

A new approach to environmental protection

At dm drogerie markt Slovenija, as a retailer, they are aware of their social responsibility, which is why they want to make a difference in the field of sustainable development. With the innovative development of the new Pro Climate sub-brand, they now offer customers sustainable products that are not only climate-friendly, but also environmentally neutral*. This means that they are produced with the smallest possible ecological footprint, and the five unavoidable impacts on the environment are offset by the denaturation projects carried out by the organization HeimaTERBE, thus contributing to the re-establishment of the environmental balance.

Every product inevitably affects the environment during production, use and disposal and thus cannot be climate neutral by itself. Environmental impacts can be reduced, but cannot be 100% prevented. With your products Pro Climate dm took an extra step forward because it addresses five different environmental aspects, namely, in addition to greenhouse gas emissions, eutrophication (water pollution), soil acidification, photochemical smog and ozone depletion. This means that the environmental impacts that occur during the production, transport and use of the product are as small as possible, and the unavoidable amounts of CO₂ are offset, e.g. with afforestation projects, with which dm further strengthens its leading position in the field of sustainable development. With environmentally neutral products, they offer their customers sustainable alternatives for everyday use and encourage more conscious consumption.

With the help of a comprehensive and unique life cycle analysis, from the acquisition of raw materials, production, transport and use, all the way to product disposal, prepared by dm together with the Technical University of Berlin, more environmentally friendly products have been developed at dm, united under the name Pro Climate. The offer so far includes 14 products from the core sales program of existing dm brands alverde NATURKOSMETIK, Jessa, Sanft&Sicher, Denkmit and Sundance, and in the future more products will be added to the sales program, recognizable by their uniform, bright green packaging.
