Pumpkin Spice Latte
Ingredients
- pumpkin puree (fresh pumpkin or canned pumpkin puree)
- spices (cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger and cloves)
- espresso or strong coffee
- milk, can also be plant-based
- vanilla extract
- whipped cream (optional)
Directions
- Prepare the pumpkin spice mix. In a small bowl, combine 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon, 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg, 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger, and 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves. Mix well.
- Heat the desired amount of milk in a small saucepan over medium heat. You don't need to boil the milk, just make sure it's hot enough for a nice sip.
- In a separate bowl, mix 2-3 tablespoons of pumpkin puree with a teaspoon of prepared pumpkin spice mixture.
- Brew espresso or strong coffee.
- Add the prepared pumpkin puree mixture to a large bowl. Pour the freshly brewed espresso over the pumpkin mixture and mix well.
- Add a little vanilla extract and a little more pumpkin spice mix. Mix well to infuse all the flavors.
- Use a milk frother to froth the heated milk until it becomes creamy. Alternatively, you can use a glass and shake the hot milk vigorously until it foams.
- Slowly pour the frothed milk into the cup containing the coffee and pumpkin mixture.
- Garnish the Pumpkin Spiced Latte with a dollop of whipped cream and sprinkle with the remaining pumpkin spice mix.
