Gingerbread cake
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 egg
- 2 1/2 cups plain flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon of ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 1 cup warm water
- sweet cream For the vanilla cream:
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup butter – 1 cup of whipped cream
- 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
Directions
- Heat the oven to 250 degrees and coat the pan with a little oil.
- Mix the sugar and butter in a bowl until smooth.
- Add the eggs and mix well with an electric mixer.
- In another bowl, mix the dry ingredients: flour, baking powder, cinnamon, ginger and salt.
- Then mix the two mixtures and pour a cup of boiling water into it.
- Bake at 200 degrees for about 40 minutes.
- To prepare the vanilla cream, mix all the ingredients together and spread it over the cake layers. Decorate as desired.
