Mulled wine is an indispensable companion on cold autumn and winter days. Its sweet taste and fragrant smell of cinnamon are for many synonymous with a happy December.
Ingredients
- 1 bottle of semi-dry red or dry white wine
- 2 dcl of water
- 60 g of sugar
- 2 sticks of cinnamon
- a little grated nutmeg
- a few cloves
- 2 star anise
- a little cardamom
- half a vanilla pod
- 2 sliced oranges
Directions
- Bring all the ingredients to a boil in a pot and cook over low heat until the sugar dissolves. Add more sweetener if needed.
- Cook for about 10 minutes and let cool.
- If the spices are left at the bottom, strain them.
- Before serving, heat the drink and garnish with a slice of fresh orange and cloves.
