Recipe: the best mulled wine

Mulled wine is an indispensable companion on cold autumn and winter days. Its sweet taste and fragrant smell of cinnamon are for many synonymous with a happy December.

Ingredients

  • 1 bottle of semi-dry red or dry white wine
  • 2 dcl of water
  • 60 g of sugar
  • 2 sticks of cinnamon
  • a little grated nutmeg
  • a few cloves
  • 2 star anise
  • a little cardamom
  • half a vanilla pod
  • 2 sliced oranges

Directions

  1. Bring all the ingredients to a boil in a pot and cook over low heat until the sugar dissolves. Add more sweetener if needed.
  2. Cook for about 10 minutes and let cool.
  3. If the spices are left at the bottom, strain them.
  4. Before serving, heat the drink and garnish with a slice of fresh orange and cloves.
