There is probably no better feeling than biting into a juicy strawberry. Even if their season hasn't really started, you can already find them in some markets and store shelves. If you've already discovered a seller with the best strawberries, treat yourself to a few more boxes and prepare a delicious dessert, because below are some mouth-watering strawberry recipes.
In addition to the fact that strawberries are a very tasty and popular food, they have many properties, which not only pamper yours palate, but also yours the body. In France, this fruit is considered to be natural aphrodisiac, which was served to the newlyweds in the form of a sweet soup. On the other hand, the Romans believed they had strawberries healing powers - they were used to treat depression, kidney stones, bad breath, elevated temperature...
Today, strawberries are mainly used in hedonistic purposes, so it would be a good idea for you to check out what strawberry recipes are waiting for you to prepare. Before you start, we advise you not to wash and cut the strawberries before you plan to use them, as the water speeds up the process it rots.
1. Jagoda mousse
Ingridients:
- 250 g of strawberries
- 3 eggs
- 2 tablespoons of sugar
- 125 ml of milk
- 125 ml of sweet cream
- lemon balm leaves (for decoration)
Preparation:
Remove the stalks from the strawberries and mash them to make a strawberry puree. Separate the egg whites and yolks and beat them with sugar until creamy. Over a water bath, slowly add milk to the mixture and beat the ingredients until a thick mass is formed. Set the mixture aside and stir in the strawberry puree. Let the ingredients cool.
Meanwhile, beat the egg whites and sweet cream in another bowl. Mix the snow into the cold strawberry cream, then the sweet cream. Transfer the strawberry mousse into glasses and cool it in the refrigerator.
2. Three-ingredient strawberry pie
Ingredients for the pie:
- 1 puff pastry (defrosted)
- 450 grams of fresh strawberries
- 1 tablespoon sugar (or sugar substitute)
Ingredients for whipped cream with lemon:
- 1 cup whipping cream
- 2 tablespoons of powdered sugar
- zest and juice of half a lemon
Preparation:
Heat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius. Roll out the puff pastry and place it on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Cut the strawberries and spread them over the dough (about 2 centimeters from the edge). Fold the edges of the dough slightly over the strawberries. Sprinkle with sugar. Bake for 18 to 20 minutes.
Beat the cream with an electric mixer until medium stiff, add powdered sugar, lemon zest and juice. Beat until done. Cover and refrigerate for four hours.
3. No-bake strawberry cake
Ingridients:
- 500 g of strawberries
- 250 g butter cookies
- 100 g of coconut butter
- 4 dcl of milk
- 1 bag of vanilla pudding
- 50 g of sugar
- 30 g of gelatin
Preparation:
Crush the butter biscuits, add the melted butter and mix the ingredients well. Line the mass in a round pan (diameter 28 cm) and put it in the freezer for a quarter of an hour.
In the meantime, prepare the pudding (follow the instructions on the bag) and pour it over the dough and place the pan in the cold for an additional 15 minutes.
During this time, clean the strawberries, cut them and put them in a pan with sugar on the stove so that the sugar melts. Beat them with a stick blender and add gelatin to the mass to thicken it. Pour the resulting cream over the cake and put it back in the freezer.
The cake should be ready after 15 minutes, if it still seems runny, leave it in the freezer for another quarter of an hour.
4. Dstrawberry jam sauce
Ingredients (for 10 people):
- 1 kg of strawberries
- 800-900 g of sugar
- 2 lemons
Preparation:
Wash the strawberries, remove the stalks and put them in a bowl and sprinkle with sugar. Cover them and let them stand overnight.
The next day, cut the lemons in half and squeeze them. Put the double-bottomed shrimp on the cooker and put the sugar, strawberries and lemon juice in it. Bring to a slow boil over low heat. Stir until the sugar melts, while skimming the foam that forms on the jam. Check its thickness by placing a spoonful of jam on a cold plate, wait three minutes and push it away with your finger. If it wrinkles, you can remove the jam from the heat and cool it (10 minutes) and transfer it to warmed glasses and seal it tightly.
