The 2024 Kia EV6 facelift brings fresh momentum to the increasingly competitive electric vehicle segment. After successfully selling more than 210,000 units since the start of production in 2021, Kia has come up with a series of improvements to keep its model at the very top of the range.
The exterior of the Kia EV6 remains recognizable, but with new, more angular headlights reminiscent of the larger EV9 model and a refreshed bumper design. Although the vehicle's profile remains unchanged, new 19-inch and 20-inch (48 cm and 51 cm) wheels are available to add a fresh touch. Inside, it boasts a new three-spoke steering wheel and a redesigned dual-screen bezel. Highlights include a fingerprint authentication system, a 12-inch (30.5 cm) head-up display (HUD) and a digital rear-view mirror, while the piano finish on the center console has disappeared with the facelift.
Improvements we don't see
New airbags on the sides of the rear seats and thicker B-pillars contribute to greater body rigidity. Also, the electric motors were additionally insulated for quieter operation, and the shock absorbers were also improved for a more comfortable ride. Software upgrades now enable updates over the network for other vehicle systems, in addition to navigation. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay wireless connections are also standard.
Longer range and faster charging
The Kia EV6 says goodbye to the old battery with a capacity of 77.4 kilowatt hours and introduces a larger battery pack with 84 kilowatt hours, which allows charging from 10 to 80 percent in just 18 minutes with a power of 350 kilowatts. The rear-wheel drive version of the EV6 Long Range now achieves a range of 494 km (307 miles), an improvement over the previous 475 km (295 miles).
Renovated Kia EV6 will be available in the domestic market as early as next month, with sales in other markets to follow soon after. The arrival of the top-of-the-range GT model is not far off.
By updating the model Kia EV6 it not only refreshed its appearance, but also improved the technical capabilities, comfort and safety of the vehicle. Will it be with these changes EV6 remained among the favorites in the class of electric vehicles, but only time will tell.
