Is this the most expensive new car in the world?! Just in time for Father's Day, Rolls-Royce unveiled a second special Boat Tail model at the Concorso d'Eleganza on Lake Como. The special vehicle, which will light up the eyes of picnic lovers and luxury vehicle lovers alike, is a tribute to the owner's father and his family heritage, and is made according to the individual wishes of the buyer. The carmaker is thus presenting what is currently probably the most expensive new car in the world and one of the most complex custom-made vehicles that Rolls-Royce has ever created.

The most expensive new car in the world has a new owner. The proud owner of the unique piece is the son of the pearl manufacturer, who has not been named. It is said to already have an impressive collection of classic and modern vehicles awaiting its grand entrance into the private museum. As the name suggests, the Tail boat is characterized by a stretched and elegantly tapered stern. Unlike normal Rolls-Royce the rear lights are arranged horizontally, the transition from the angular front to the flat rear is smooth. The stunning wood-look stern is reminiscent of a yacht.

The distinctive silhouette of the model, made from individual aluminum sheets, is reminiscent of racing yachts from the beginning of the 20th century. Visually, the luxury car impresses with its restrained design aesthetics, elegant color shades in rose, bronze and cognac and a finish with a pearl effect that changes according to the lighting mood. A selection of special mother-of-pearl shells from the client's private collection served as the basis for the color scheme. The interior is dominated by selected materials such as leather, walnut and mother of pearl. A special highlight: the wood-look back panel, which lifts up like two butterfly wings at the push of a button to reveal the basic equipment of high-end alfresco dining. Whether it's a parasol, fine tableware or stools made of carbon - no wish remains unfulfilled after a spontaneous picnic. For which the owners of this iconic vehicle somehow have time.

Centerpiece of the dashboard: a pearl watch from the client's private collection. The switches and instrument dials in the car are also made of mother-of-pearl, clearly indicating the customer's special family and emotional bond with the material. Alex Innes, Head of Coachbuild Design at Rolls-Royce, is excited about the possibilities offered by Coachbuild. "We can create things and overcome challenges that conventional industrial methods wouldn't allow," said Innes. "Here, modern design is uniquely combined with historical craftsmanship." Experts suspect that a 6.75-liter V12 hides under the mighty hood of the 5.8 m long convertible, but there is no official statement from Rolls-Royce. It is not known how expensive a "custom" product is. Various sources, however, suspect a proud price of around 26 million euros.

Last year, Rolls-Royce decided to design three Boat Tail models at the individual request of each customer. Rolls-Royce-Coachbuild allows wealthy customers to design a vehicle according to their personal taste and for the manufacturer itself represents a "return to the roots of its own brand". Although all three vehicles are based on the same body style, they are built exclusively for individual customers. The first model with a picnic back is supposed to go into the hands of a musical couple Jay-Z and Beyoncé.
