Samsung plows the field with its "folders", and this year's Galaxy Z Flip 4 model is proof that good products don't need a revolution, but a smart evolution.
Samsung Flip in our opinion, it is the best "folder" in the world, although it is not the one with the most ultimate "specifications", it is the phone that is the best in its category. We like the form and we are pleased to note that Samsung fully maintains what they have done with excellence.
So the latest generation of Samsung's smaller foldable smartphone comes with some small but significant upgrades, such as a bigger battery, upgraded camera hardware and a more powerful main display. There are also some new colors that you can mix and match to create your own “custom” Flip 4. Not much has changed in terms of price either, as it will be very similar to its predecessor. Many expected that the fourth generation would be offered at a more affordable price, which is not possible due to many improvements.
The chipset has been updated with the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 (combined with 8 GB of RAM), which is the “normality” of all flagship Android phones this year.
The shape of the phone is also changing slightly, with a slightly thinner hinge and slightly flattened edges of the phone. But practically nothing has changed in terms of dimensions.
The main screen of the smartphone is still 6.7 inches with a variable refresh rate of 120 Hz and this time it is 45 percent stronger thanks to changes in the screen structure and a stronger ultra-thin glass. Even the glue that holds the (much needed) screen protector in place is stronger this year.
The phone is still IPX8 rated with robust water resistance and dust resistance.
The screen on the outside is still small at 1.9 inches. However, you can do more things with the screen. For example, you manage your electronic wallet or smart home. Of course, everything in an ideal world and if you have the latter.
Last year's 3300 mAh battery has been increased to 3700 mAh. The speed of wired charging is therefore higher by 25 W. Wireless charging is only 10 W this time, which is not enough.

With this year's generation, we are at Galaxy Flip expected a slightly larger upgrade of the cameras, which did not make a big leap in the field of "hardware". The main camera still has 12 MP, while the selfie has that mark at 10 MP. However, Samsung emphasizes the improved software of the model and thus better photography. Smartphone Galaxy Flip4 it is increasingly becoming a phone that gives the impression of a serious smartphone in the leading segment. Here we are mainly talking about the very feelings of production and choice of materials. It seems like Samsung is taking giant steps forward with the micro fixes though.
The Flip 4 is available for pre-order starting today and will be available on August 26. Colors include pine purple, graphite, and new rose gold and blue options.
